Welcome to Hebrew Calendar for Google Calendar (HC4GC). By accessing or using our application, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service. If you disagree with these terms, please do not use the app.
1. Description of Service
HC4GC is a client-side web application designed to help users manage Hebrew calendar events (such as birthdays, anniversaries, or yahrzeits) and export or sync them with external calendars, including Google Calendar. It operates entirely within your browser and does not use backend servers to store or process your personal data.
2. Use of the App
- Local Processing: All event data and settings are stored locally in your browser (using Local Storage) unless you explicitly choose to export or sync them.
- Responsibility for Data: You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the dates and information you and the backup of your data. Clearing your browser's data may result in the loss of your locally stored app information.
- Intended Use: The application is intended for personal and non-commercial use.
3. Integration with Third-Party Services (e.g., Google Calendar)
HC4GC offers an optional feature to automatically sync your generated events with your Google Calendar.
- Granting Access: To enable this, you must grant the app permission to manage your calendars and events via Google OAuth.
- Data Handling during Sync: The app uses a temporary access token to perform the exact actions you authorize, such as reading calendar names, creating new calendars, or adding/updating events.
- Existing Calendars warning: The application will warn you if it is about to override or delete an existing calendar sharing the same name as the one you are targeting. You are responsible for ensuring that critical data is not inadvertently modified or deleted during the sync process.
- Third-Party Terms: Your use of the Google Calendar API and Google OAuth is also subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
4. Open Source License
HC4GC is an open-source project distributed under the BSD 3-Clause License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the software as permitted by the license terms. The license includes a disclaimer of liability, which applies to your use of the application.
- For the full legal text of the license, please refer to the source code repository.
5. Liability and Warranties
- "As Is" Basis: In accordance with the BSD 3-Clause License, the application is provided "as is" and "as available," without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- Data Loss or Errors: The developers of HC4GC are not liable for any data loss, calculation errors, missed events, or inadvertent modifications/deletions of calendars in your Google account resulting from the use of this free tool.
6. Privacy
Your privacy is important. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle information, particularly that all data remains local to your device and how third-party connections are managed.
